Lime mortar - This mortar is suitable for pointing, building, rendering and plastering. The mortar has been matured for at least 3 months so it ideal for plastering. Goat hair is to be added by you just before application of the plastering mortar.

A washed sand can be added, if you are requiring a specific shade. Please give a ring to discuss your requirements.

  • 3:1 Lime Mortar supplied in dumpy bags within rigid plastic container. £145/tonne. Containers are sold on a sale of return basis.

 

  • 3:1 Lime Mortar in plastic sealed buckets. 22kgs/£7.50

 

Parging/ torching lime mortar - This mortar is suitable to apply on the underneath side of the slates on a roof. Eden lime mortar supply the goat/horse hair which needs to be added to the mortar just before the application on to the slates.

Hydraulic lime  - Singleton & Birch

The NHL 2 & 3.5 are in stock all the time. The Singlton Birch NHLZ5 is not kept in stock but it if a suitable quantity is required it can be ordered.

NHL 2 has a 28 day setting strength between 2.0 - 3.0. The NHL 3.5 has 28 day setting strength between 3.5-4.5

 

NHL 2 Natural hydraulic lime

NHL 2 is typically used for internal works, external repointing / rendering and building on soft masonry in sheltered areas.

NHL 3.5 is typically used for most repointing / rendering and building works on most masonry types.

HyperLime™ 2

Hesian  sheets -

 

This material is ideal to protect the lime mortar from drying out to quickly aswell as keeping direct sunlight & rain from the mortar. Ideally the hessian sheet should be dampened for the first 2/3 days, the hessian needs to protect the mortar for 2 -3 weeks after application.

Lime dyes -


These can be added to the lime washes to achieve what colour you are requiring.
The pigment should be mixed with clean hot water and thoroughly stirred before adding it to the limewash. Once added to the limewash it again needs to be thoroughly mixed.

Sands.

These are both gritty sands with a good variation of finings. The scorton sand has a yellowish colour to it, when used for pointing the gaps should not be too big as the sand has not as many large finings as the cardewmires sand.
